365 day DSLR challenge - a photo a day

It's 2021 and that can mean only one thing -
it's time for a brand new challenge for this beautiful new year!

It's fair to say that 2020 threw us all a few curve balls and due to its totally nonsensical theme I for one plan on enjoying the simple things a heck of a lot more in 2021, because it's the simple things that turn an average day into an extra special day.

So I've chosen to take 'a photo a day' for 365 days.
Firstly to get some practice in with my DSLR camera (hopefully I'll suck at photography a lot less after 365 practices!) and secondly to capture some memories of everyday life throughout 2021.

Some days are not very exciting, especially when we are living under lockdown restrictions but there is always a Dotty dog to photograph.

The Dotty gang are my favourite subjects to photograph and having a catalogue of their year to look back at will make me smile a lot.

I am a complete beginner when it comes to dog photography (give me a pencil and paper any day - so much easier!) so here's what I've learned so far...

1. Patience is everything
(and I mean bucket loads of patience - not my strongest quality to be honest!)

2. 'Light' is key
(the short days and British weather are a challenge I hadn't considered)

3. And the subject matter needs to be able to follow simple instructions
(Rosie was more challenging than the British weather!)

 But...

"Success is nothing more than a few simple disciplines, practiced every day." Jim Rohn

Watch this space... I have a lot to learn!
And who's joining me?
